Information about the Chesham United Youth teams

Thanks for the great turnout today and the amount of effort the children put in. We were up against a good team but the games never became one-sided. Thanks to George and Harry for joining us from the Saturday team.

We are at home to Thame next week. It will be an 11.15 kick off so a 10.45 meet please.

Well done boys on winnng another 2 games and continuing with your winning streak.

We've got 2 new players, 1 has joined us this week and the other will join us at the end of October when he moves to the Chesham area.

I'm sure you will make them both welcome.

This was the second game in a row against Chalfont Saints for Chesham United U12 blues. The previous encounter saw the blues come out victorious with a 4-2 home win, with assistant coach Tim Lunn stepping in for the head coach who was unable to attend.

The tactics for this match was to utilise the width of the pitch. Makise was tasked with spreading the ball wide to either Ethan or Luca to use their pace to full effect and get in round their full backs and then to whip the crosses in for the centre forward.

Early possession for the blues suggested the game was certainly winnable. Luca and Ethan were causing havoc on the wings and their persistence was rewarded after 10 minutes when Ethan was put through one on one with the keeper, and Ethan calmly swept the ball into the net to make it 1-0.

At 1-0 all the possession belonged to the blues. Intricate one twos in all areas of the park were coming off, the ball was being played from the full backs up to the wingers and the passing was good.

Special mention to Rayyan at this point for a pin point pass that split the chalfont defense. Ethan was through on goal again for a one on one but this time couldn't manage to find the net. Persistent pressure soon paid off though when a speculative long range shot from Makise was deflected into the net. This was harsh for the chalfont keeper who had earlier made a couple of very good saves.

Ideas of the blues coasting to an easy win were dashed however when the saints got a goal from Nowhere. Their striker ran clear and put an unstoppable ball past Oliver who had previously dealt with everything that had been thrown at him.

At the end of the second half Josh had a strike well saved by the keeper, which Antony then followed up and scored the rebound to make it 3-1 at half time.

In the second half it was more of the same but Chalfont were better in the defense. Luca had been singled out for some special attention and was on the wrong end of an upending, then sandwiched and lastly winded after falling from a heavy challenge.

The last laugh however was for Luca as he finished beautifully into the top corner after coming back on after one of his injury withdrawls.

It now looked like there would be a rout but the goals just didn't come. Josh hit the bar from a free kick, Kieran was marauding down the left hand side and Thomas played a stormer at Right back with no one getting past him.

Next week we play Beaconsfield. This won't be an easy game as we will be short on numbers. Toby continues his recovery from a broken arm, whilst the Jaycock brothers are out due to family commitments.

Many thanks for a brilliant turnout for Non League Day at Chesham United. Over 60 players and parents supported the event which was fantastic. We hope the players enjoyed the guard of honour and the half-time games. It was a great way to put our youth section in the spotlight - thanks to Scott and all of the coaches for organising it. Shame the senior team lost and missed a penalty but you can't have everything ! If you have any other pictures of the day please send them in.IMG 1366IMG 1366IMG 1366

Sunday 24th September

 Chesham United 11 - 1 Windsor Hawks

After winning our first game 9-1 the Generals followed up with an 11-1 home win today .

The boys played some fantastic football , this team has some very quick forward players and we again used that to our advantage today and played some excellent football especially in wide areas . We scored a number of very good team goals plus 2/3 cracking individual efforts .

Great start to the season from the Generals .

Big thank you to Andrew for taking over ref duties today and to Matt for running the line .

Hello everyone,
Thanks for attending today. The squad was depleted by absentees (thanks to everyone for the prior notice) but Scott's team put in a couple of decent performances - including a terrific goal from Adam - while my group responded to a heavy loss by re-grouping to win our first game of the season 3-2. Everybody made a contribution in a fantastic all-round performance. George and Liam scored the goals but Joe, Jake, Shreyas, Tom and Rosie all worked incredibly hard to ensure we won. Thanks to George and Jake for joining us from the Saturday team this week.
We are away to Prestwood next Sunday - details to follow over venue/timings. There are training sessions at Challenors on Monday and Friday. Please try to get to one of those if you can.
Have a good week,
Hello everyone,
Non-League Day is on October 7th. We'd like to get the U7-U12 age groups involved by forming a guard of honour before Chesham United's match that day and play some small-sided games on the pitch at half-time which should be a great experience for all of the children.
Please indicate to your coach if your child would be available to take part. It should be a really fun day. It's pay what you like for adults, U18s free. Tickets can be downloaded from the link below
Free tickets can be downloaded at Welcome to Kaizen - Ticketing Technology

Hello everyone,

Thanks for attending today. The second round of games were a massive improvement and all of the players deserve credit for that. It's difficult to adjust to a higher level at first and heads didn't go down. A draw for one of our teams has to be considered a very good result.

There is training at Challenors on Mon/Fri at 6.30. Please try to attend one session if you can.

We are at home to Aylesbury next week. It will be a 9am meet for a 9.30 ko this time.

We aim to have a matchday squad of 18 so please let us know if you can't make it so we can approach the Saturday team for a replacement. Thanks to Ed and George for joining us today.

See you next week,

Congratulations to the team for yet again winning both their matches today against some very tough opposition.

Thanks to everyone who attended Friday night training for the U10s and U11s. Over 30 players on the Astro at Challenors. A great session put on by Alex, Doug and Jack. Good luck to everyone this weekend !IMG 1283

Midweek training this week 6-7:15 at Thomas Harding

The season continues with another 2 wins today.

Well done to the team and especially to our new players who fitted in extremely well with the others.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for entertaining us yesterday. I just wanted to say what a great comeback from your boys. Whilst I was gutted we lost I was in awe of your boys not giving up and giving 100% until the end. This is what Sunday boys football is all about, a good well played close game.

Good luck for the rest of the Season.

Bourne End JSC Colts Under 12's
