Information about the Chesham United Youth teams

Thanks for everyone for turning out today for the games . The kids played really well in a higher league and are adjusting to our new 4-1-1 playing style. Really good performances from all from for example Liam "pass of the game" to literally put a goal on a plate for a player in his team To Jake who ran and ran and seemed to be one of the hardest tacklers on the pitch, both of whom were our " player of the matches " a new addition to our coaching format this season Our keepers both performed outstandingly and with practice will get better and better . Thanks to everyone that played wing back in our new style of passing down the line and to Cameron Rosie William Joe Shreyas and John who rotated round, and a great debut from Mahair. Bihandu and Adam performed well in our engines as ever. Thanks must also go to Harry George and Ed who have been helping us out from the Sat team. We will be trying as a group to rely less and less on outside players especially as we grow and see our players develop. Training is on this Monday at Dr C's on the new flood lit Astro as well as next Friday from 6.30 to 7.30pm and it really does help bring the kids on so please try and make it. Our next games are against Chesham Athletic at the moor and it's a 8.45 meet with a 9.15 sharp kick off . I know it's early but they share their pitches so the have to start early . Please let us know if can't come or have problems. At present our team line up is as follows. Each player will be a sub for 7.5 min and positions will rotate as we bring on a new player . This will help ensure equality on the pitch . Team one Thomas Sam Daisy Cameron Jake Mahair Liam Starting sub John Team two Tom Bihandu William Rosie Adam Joe Shreyas Starting sub Samuel As you can see Nigel and I have put lots of effort into balancing the teams out so please if your child can't make it for any reason please let us know and then we will ask for some assistance from our friends in the Sat team, but as mentioned we'd rather give our players more game time. We will find our level as a team and we want the kids to have fun learning and growing together and we hope for your support in that. As ever any questions please let Nigel or I know and see you next week. Scott

A tough start for the Blues this morning at home, they played Bourne End JSC Colts.

At half time they were 3-0 down 😞, our first goal went in shortly after the second half started.

The Blues then found the confidence & scored another three goals.

Final score 4-3, brilliant game to watch, enjoyed by all.

A fantastic job done today by the clarets againts Windsor Royals Youth at our home ground.

It was a tough & close game all of the match, the Clarets even gave away two penalties & nearly a third, Sammy the cat saved them both 😸😁

An enjoyable first game of the season final score 4-2.

It was the first league game of the season for the new look Chesham United Blues U12's. After some successful tournaments over the summer, where they reached the latter stages without actually winning the competition, the hopes were high.

Congratulations go out to Ethan, Hana and Anthony on making their Blues debuts today, in what proved to be a very eventful game.

As the game went underway it was the Blues who were the slowest out of the blocks. They looked lethargic and were not winning the all important balls in the middle of the park. After some poor distribution the Blues went a goal down from a long range effort with the keeper (Oliver Wise) off his line. Heads seemed to drop then and Bourne End were dominant. Two more goals soon followed and the Blues were looking downbeat. They trudged off the park at half time losing 3 nil and looked very dejected.

At half time the players were told to go out, win the game and hold their heads up high. The team talk worked and within the first minute the Blues pulled one back. Anthony Coles on his debut went clear down the right hand side and crossed into the middle of the penalty area. Toby Dixon controlled the ball and hit his shot towards goal where it deflected in off a Bourne End defender.

The Blues smelt blood and were now winning the balls in the middle of the pitch. Makise Evans, Bella Adams, Ethan Lunn, Luca Britton and Josh Anwar all had stints in midfield and they were now running the show.

As the game drew on Bourne End were still coming on to the Blues, and some resolute defending from tghe Jaycock brothers and Hana Hetherington kept them in the game.

Cheshams second goal came from an innocous goal kick. Toby Dixon put his foot through the ball and it cleared thedir defense. Ethan Lunn was on it like a fox and calmy tucked away the goal.

By this point Bourne End were frantic. With their manager barking orders at his defense it looked like they were rattled.

Anthony Coles then got his first goal for Chesham United with a bundled ball over the line. At this point the 50 strong crowd were going wild (Boistered by the Clarets coming to watch the last 20 minutes of the game).

As the game drew to a close the fairy tale came to fruition. Toby was put through by Josh Anwar and he calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net.

4-3 to the blues and then the final whistle was blown. Congatulations to all the players today. They really showed some desire coming back from the half time score.

Great start to the season today winning both our matches. All the players played extremely well showing great skill and determination.

Well done to all especially as we haven't had our first training session yet.
