• Back after Easter

1DA876B2 E6C1 4C00 A854 B6C0DA4397C1Thanks for the great turnout at our first training session after Easter. The boys all put plenty of effort in during a lively hour. The pitches should have finally dried out for a double header at home next week. Clarets against St James, Blues verses Kings Church.

  • Double success

Both The Clarets and Blues put in fine performances which got the results they deserved this morning against St James and Kings Church respectively.

Woodside has gone from a swamp to concrete in record time but everyone made a contribution - some for both teams - which sets us up for the busy Festival period coming up.

Only The Blues have a game next week at Legacy. Phil will be in charge, Aaron will be captain.

  • Easter Report

Both of the Saturday U10 teams have enjoyed a successful term despite some dreadful weather.

The Clarets have come through some very tough games with some excellent results while a number of players in the Blues teams have really improved - they've won some and lost some but apart from the odd exception the performances have been very good and the players have listened to the coaches and tried to act on what they've said. It was good to finish the term with both teams winning against one of the strongest clubs in their division.

There has been some movement between the two teams which is how it should be. Phil and I will continue to put players where they deserve to be based on performances or where they can help a particular team on a particular day.

Thanks as always to the parents and guardians who give up their Saturday mornings to support their children and their team. Without you, there wouldn't be a club.

Hopefully the weather will be better after Easter and we'll be able to finish the season on a high.

  • Saturday U10 update 13.01.18

Both of the Saturday U10 teams enjoyed an unbeaten weekend in their Church League matches.

The Clarets held a strong Westwood Park 2-2 - an improvement on a heavy defeat to the same opponents in the autumn -  while The Blues worked extremely hard to eventually overcome Seer Green 2-0 with both goals coming in the final quarter. The team was captained superbly by Ilia and the goals from Matthew E and Jake were well deserved.

The Clarets will be training next Saturday while The Blues are away at Thames Valley Youth in Slough. Details of who is training/playing will come from Phil later this week.

  • Saturday U11 report 23.2.19

A combined Saturday squad enjoyed an excellent friendly against Radnage Raiders U12 over half-term. There were plenty of excellent performances in a 10-7 defeat against a side from the older age-group and it was the perfect preparation for the League Tournament over the first two weeks in MarchIMG 1058IMG 1059

  • Saturday U11 report 9.3.19.

It was a very good morning for both teams. The Clarets enjoyed a comprehensive win over Chalfont Blues to stay among those teams at the top of the table before a big game at St James next week.

The Blues were in the Fourth Division of the Church League tournament. They adapted very well to a new system and drew 1-1 with the eventual winners Holy Trinity, beat Thames Valley 1-0 and lost 0-1 to our bogey team this season Kings Church. That was enough for second place and a well-deserved medal. Westwood Park at home is coming up next week.

    U11 training

Saturday U11 Clarets lost narrowly to Westwood Park at Chartridge this weekend. The Blues had their match postponed at short notice but had a great turnout for training. Both teams will be involved in the Church League tournament after half-term

  • Saturday U11 update 16.03.19

The Saturday U11 Blues played out a deserved 2-2 draw with Westwood Park. It was another much-improved performance with a number of players having their most impressive games of the season so far against one of the strongest teams in the division.

The Clarets match with St James was postponed. They play Kings Church this week while the Blues have the week off.

There was also a very lively joint training session with the Sunday team on Monday which everyone seemed to enjoy.

  • Two narrow defeats....

Both of the Saturday U10 teams were on the wrong end of narrow score lines on Saturday.

Both worked very hard to level their matches before conceding late goals which produced results which didn’t really reward the effort and determination every player put in.

Both should be in action next Saturday at Woodside weather permitting in the final matches before the half-term break.

  • Weekend review 5.5.18

There was a bit of symmetry about the performances on a very hot morning at Woodside.

The Blues made a very slow start against a strong Iver Patriots but heads didn’t drop and the finish to the game was excellent. Clarets dominated the start against Kings Church but had to hang on for a narrow victory in the end.

Thanks to our regular catering team and the parents/grandparents for their support.DC4A4653 B146 426B A9C8 6C04EBB082F0
